The DMS 180 III recorder from Dallmeier is the world's first digital picture storage system to achieve certification by the VdS Testing Commission. Up to now, only the lesser standards required by IT systems regulations have been fulfilled. The VdS certification process on the other hand uses the much more demanding European security system standards. With own developments, Dallmeier fulfilled the strict guidelines of the VdS Testing Commission.

Each purchaser of a VdS-approved device derives benefits from higher quality specifications in the following areas:

• resistance to electro-magnetic interference
• mechanical influences
• sabotage protection
• integration in alarm system
• climatic tolerance and endurance
• power supply stability
• picture quality (UVV-Kassen)

VdS testing pays special attention to the composition of security-relevant components such as the power supply. Dallmeier fulfilled an important certification criterion by developing their own important components (such as power supply, main board, housing, module for input and output contacts, compression module) rather than using cheaper PC versions.

CertiSec Pack^®
For the first time ever worldwide, the loss prevention company VdS GmbH, a company of the German Insurance Association (GDV), has not just certified an individual CCTV product, but a complete video surveillance system, the VdS CertiSec Pack^®.
The CertiSec Pack^® is certified as a category I, class C video surveillance system. Those kinds of systems are especially proper for monitoring high risks, which means that the system has an increased protection against sabotage, damage and failure of security-relevant functions, which are also constantly monitored.
